電影後面的視覺效果沒有大家期望的精緻，故事高潮既沒有迭起還稍顯拖沓，這並不是電影本身的問題，這還是原著書的問題。原著從一到三，隨著前面的坑太多，後面補起來，就越來越麻煩，節奏也就越來越慢。導演面臨著選擇，或者選擇特效真刀實槍血雨腥風的「升級」，像《移動迷宮》一般改編原著，或者像《分歧者》一樣做大量刪減，還是忠於原著，照顧一直追看的《飢餓游戲》的年輕粉絲感情，導演還是選擇了後者，電影本身從營銷到公映就是未映先火，大批的電影粉絲從社交網路推廣宣傳，買票觀看，而電影選擇了忠於原著事無巨細的照搬原拍，雖然得罪了不少人，但對一直支持追看電影的粉絲來說，是最好的交代，善始善終，善莫大焉。

相比較國內電影題材被局限，國外電影的劇本選擇就寬泛很多，比如他們有非常成熟發達的文學市場，而文學作者面對浩如煙海的文學作品，一下把讀者吸引，就需要作者及其豐富天馬行空的想像力和一針見血的開門見山，所以《飢餓游戲》就是這種典型的文學作品改編電影，這部「青春史詩」，主打少男少女生死闖關的真人秀故事，也逃不了抄襲的嫌疑（現在這個詞好敏感啊！）但故事後面怎麼編，怎麼圓，怎麼改編成電影，就是電影製作人的功力，原著用文字和野心構建了一個反烏托邦的主題，未來虛無科幻專制的社會，各式各樣的政治隱喻與反思充斥其間，但電影卻要考慮的是觀眾的接受能力和畫面表達以及票房，要投影到年輕人為主力的觀眾心裡，這其實還是很難的。但電影整體的表現是可以打9分，算優秀的。

電影視覺營造上，還原了一個真實未來場景，從游戲布景到街道宮殿，從服飾道具到特效場面，都能看出電影的認真之處。節奏把握中規中矩，哪怕是被大家詬病的《飢餓游戲三（上）》，也讓人一部看得比較緊張，之於最後一集最後的啰嗦，也完全像《指環王》一樣，是一個系列的感情集中宣洩後的尾聲，前戲做足，後戲也要圓滿，一部系列電影這樣做完全可以理解。

而作為《飢餓游戲》最後一部電影，美國電影人超越了原著紛菀復雜的敘述，把這部電影的主題剝離展現出來，我們為什麼反抗？還是一味的以暴制暴？最後誰摧毀了凱特·尼斯的世界？三部曲導演從始至終牢牢把握住了這個電影這部書最殘酷的一個主題：誰會摧毀我們？是我們最愛的東西。而這部電影，不是喜劇，它的黑暗浸入骨髓，不忍細讀。

而這部電影的優點，我感覺是有幾個方面：

1：這是一部黑暗片，情感壓抑，結局殘忍，內容不能細想，讓人窒息，期望好萊塢圓滿大結局的觀眾會不認可。

2：這是一部政治權力掙扎片，這個系列開始的基調還是科幻動作冒險，到大結局反轉到現實影射甚至反叛，讓人思考，也讓現在世界動盪的局勢下很多以革命的民意實施的恐怖主義大行其道被年輕人追捧，才更讓人揪心。不動腦筋進電影院圖個樂的人也不會認可。

3：結尾改變忠於原著而且沒有被特效節奏所累，文戲刻畫入木三分，一堆戲骨表演才華驚現，塑造了很多讓人難以忘懷的熒幕形象。看特效的觀眾也估計不認可。
