我以前一直很不明白，92年被譽為周星馳年，當年他主演七部電影全部入圍香港票房年度十強，並且包下了前五名。這在香港電影歷史上不止是空前恐怕也是絕後的了。這年他的《鹿鼎記》，《逃學威龍2》，《武狀元蘇乞兒》等都是質量不錯的片子，不明白為什麼票房第一並且打破那時候香港電影票房歷史記錄的影片會是他那部《審死官》，同時也不理解為什麼他入圍金像獎最佳男主角提名的也是這部電影里的角色宋世傑。片子我很早就看過，印象里並不算的如何出眾，論搞笑肯定比不過他相同題材的《白麵包青天》。幾經偶想起後，今天終於還是翻出來再看了一次。
先找的是國語版，看了幾分鍾很快關了。配音不是石斑魚，搜索了一下，這片沒有石版配音版本。周星馳的國語版電影不是石版配音，精彩程度至少下降三分之一。為了更好體驗，我換成了粵語周星馳原版的配音。很讓我感到驚訝的是，周星馳在這部電影里粵語發聲的總體感覺和石斑魚非常相似，讓我有幾秒誤會周星馳才是石斑魚的粵語配音。看來這片子果然是要看粵語版的。我早之前看的是國語，難怪印象不算很好了。
影片大致情節是說著名狀師宋世傑本想擱筆轉行從商，但其妻見民女楊秀珍慘遭家姑誣陷，便勸其出筆。告狀期間，被陷害入獄，後裝瘋逃脫，最終向巡府申訴討回公道的故事。
整個主線劇情和40年代馬版粵劇沒什麼不同，說實話這個主線情節真的比較爛，但在杜琪峰導演，以周星馳為首的一干實力派演員的賣力演出之下，變成了似喜劇卻有悲情，說判案又有武俠功夫，不時誇張表情里感覺到背後蘊涵的深意，嚴肅鏡頭下忽然又轉出個惡搞的大雜燴，此片顛覆性的演繹淋漓盡致的展現在我們面前，讓我們笑中帶淚，欲罷不能。
