1964年，Paul Simon移居歐洲後，開始在巴黎和英國倫敦各種民間俱爾部中演出。返回紐約後，他與CBS的唱片公司簽約，製作人為Tom Wilson，並且重新與他的老搭檔Garfunkel合作。
