时隔多年，“粉红豹”再现江湖，而且这一次“粉红豹”钻石戴在了一位在国际足坛上享有盛名的教练手上。而就在他带队比赛的当天，却惨遭毒手身亡。自然，他手上的那枚天价的戒指也不翼而飞，必定是被杀手一并带走了。此时，最大的嫌疑也落在了足球教练女友——美丽的歌星夏尼娅（碧昂斯·诺里斯）的身上。绝不能熟视无睹的法国政府对此事重视异常，并勒令警察局必须以最快的速度侦破此案，寻回那颗价值连城的“粉红豹”。在经过了事前的各种准备工作和激烈的争论之后，官方终于决定再次启用著名的“乌龙探长”杰奎斯·克鲁索（史蒂夫·马丁）。于是，乌龙探长的新冒险又开始了。同时，克鲁索又想到了和自己合作多年的那位呆头呆脑且忠实的老伙计波顿（让·雷诺），两人再次组合成“黄金搭档”共查此案。但是，当他们共同面对最大的被怀疑对象漂亮的女歌星夏尼娅的时候，这对黄金搭档却都表现出了神魂颠倒手足无措的低能状态，令人捧腹不禁。然而，当面对种种蛛丝马迹的时候二人也会毫不含糊地一查到底。一方面要揭开凶手的真面目，一方面又要小心他们的顶头上司德莱弗斯（凯文·克莱恩）的百般刁难。
