新加坡导演唐永健认为是书本对电影的一场革命，他运用电影将观众带进小说的幻想空间。
戴口罩的女孩永不停地背诵希腊神话，一旦说出“我爱你”，便会死亡，却甘为爱人冒死说“我爱你”……经常用手铐锁起爱人便跑掉的女警，最后为救爱人而吞枪自杀……。作家把经历过的爱情，加盐加醋加幻想，编造成离奇惊异，激越悲情的爱情小说，靠“作”而大受欢迎。电影由这名作家创作的心路历程走进一个个爱情故事中，交错现实与虚幻，结合小说与电影，来描写创作与恋爱的共通处。
四地演员共唱一出戏
剧中主角遇上的四位女孩子，个性鲜明。爱读希腊神话奥斐尔的女孩，整天念念有辞，戴着黑口罩，照着手电筒，神秘感十足，脱下口罩时，却是一位嘴唇厚厚的纯憨女孩；女警，顾前不顾后，动辄锁起作家再算，是非常任性的女孩；图书馆管理员，是一位害羞含蓄，爱看情书，一紧张便跑落楼梯的女孩，作家因为她的平凡，而写了一本《爱情零引力》，想返璞归真，但女孩子最后却以令人意想不到的选择；舞台剧女演员，化装夸张，配合电影最高潮的恐怖分子绑架一段，烘托出邪异的局促感，令观众难分真假。
本片演员分别来自内地、香港、新加坡及马来西亚，各地演员都使出搞怪本领，使得本片充满新奇的趣味。
“亚洲新星导”推出爱情片
本片是“亚洲新星导”推出的六部高清电影计划中的一部。新加坡导演唐永健表示很早以前他就想拍一部爱情片，拍完《吃风》和《女佣》后，他开始筹备拍一部爱情片。“对一个导演来说，拍爱情电影就像在放假，没有血、鬼、黑暗，而是有浪漫、漂亮的画面。《故事》的故事不简单，心灵上带有抽象。”唐永健说：“现代人已逐渐失去阅读的艺术，我喜欢看书，想拍一出关于书的电影，事实上，书中的空间是没有限制的，所以这出戏也拍得富于实验性，像爵士乐章，每个章节制造不同的氛围。”既然与书有关，电影的整个环境也离不开书，并且以文字作为点缀，图书馆、书房是出现最多的场景，当然，还有大量书本内的文字。餐厅里黑板上彩色斑斓的粉笔字，成为漂亮的布景板。每一章节标题，以书法笔触来一笔一划交代，总之，在电影中，导演的确不断让文字与书以最美的形式出现。 [编辑本段]花絮·导演唐永健说，他写了第一、二稿，第三稿是和演员们一起围读、再创作，他说：“电影是一种民主的艺术形式，导演不应太骄傲。我们一起构思、重写，花了两个多月来排练。”
·内地著名歌手林依轮在片中扮演男主角，由于剧情需要，看上去显得略为平实，可能这是导演的要求，认为作家是一名旁观的人物。
·唐永健说，他希望自己的电影像一本书，观者阅后不只掩卷便算，而是当人们面对生活时，仍能对应到书中的一些内涵。
