剧情简介

一场偶然的除夕卡拉OK比赛让两个表面毫无关系的高中生——学校篮球队队长特洛伊，跟性格害羞但成绩优异的新生加布里埃尔相识。

本属于两个不同世界的他们意外发现原来彼此对唱歌都十分热爱，配合更是十分默契。凑巧的是，假期结束后，他们更发觉两人原来就读于同一所学校。种种巧合让特洛伊和加布里埃尔更加关注彼此，渐渐对对方产生好感。

学校各项比赛宣传进行得如火如荼，特洛伊为一年一度的高校篮球比赛做着准备，而加布里埃尔也报名参加了十项全能大赛。

但与此同时，二人又被学校组织的音乐剧演出吸引住了目光。他们都希望有所改变，去做另一个领域的事情。特洛伊不甘于只做一名天才球员，而加布里埃尔也不想被人称为“数学怪胎”。

于是很快音乐剧初试名单上就出现了特洛伊和加布里埃尔的名字，二人都希望能成为学校最新音乐剧的男女主角。

凯蒂新认识的朋友泰勒（莫妮卡·克尔曼饰）及特罗伊的好友兼支持者查德（科宾·布鲁饰）知道消息后均表示不赞成，查德不希望见到自己的篮球偶像登上舞台，而泰勒则担心自己带领的学术比赛队伍将失去一个重要的队员。

一向都是学校音乐剧主角的夏佩（阿什丽·提斯代尔饰）及赖安（卢卡斯·格拉比饰）亦担心自己在学校的地位将受动摇，于是联同泰勒及查德想尽办法使特洛伊及加布里埃尔不能成为音乐剧的主角。而其中，特洛伊和加布里埃尔也因此产生过误会，但终究冰释。

虽然困难重重，但特洛伊及加布里埃尔并没有因此而放弃，反而更积极追寻自己的梦想，亦影响到其他同学向别人展示一些他们一直隐藏起来的才华，朋友们决定支持二人参加音乐剧。但紧要关头，夏佩和赖安暗中捣鬼，说服老师修改复试时间。

导致音乐剧复试时间与篮球比赛、十项全能大赛时间冲突，但在朋友们的帮助下，这些并不是问题。特洛伊和加布里埃尔终于如愿以偿地参加了音乐剧复试，并得到了老师和同学们的肯定。
